Funds Awarded for the 2023 Marching Member Support Fund

The St. John’s Drum & Bugle Corps Alumni Committee offers our congratulations to all applicants to our 2023 Marching Member Support Fund (MMSF).

 

We are pleased to advise five individual donations of $100.00 CAD have been awarded to youths who will be active marching members of a Drum and Bugle Corps or competing unit under the WGI - Sport of the Arts umbrella for the 2023 competitive season.

 

The Alumni Committee wishes the best of luck to all those participating and competing this year.

Marching Member Support Fund for 2023

The St. John’s Drum & Bugle Corps Alumni Committee proudly continues to support Drum Corps and Winter Guard activity in 2023 with our Marching Member Support Fund (MMSF).

 

The MMSF consists of five (5) individual donations of $100.00 CAD that will be awarded to five (5) youths who will be active marching members of a Drum and Bugle Corps or competing unit under the WGI - Sport of the Arts umbrella for the 2023 competitive season.

The MMSF will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to the first five (5) applicants who meet the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must be a resident Canada
  2. The applicant’s age must be within the DCI rules for age eligibility, which is:
  • Drum Corps International's age limit is 21 years of age with one exception. Corps members who turn 22 on or after June 1 are eligible to march during that year. Minimum age limits may vary from corps to corps.”

3. The applicant must provide a copy, or written proof, of their Membership Contract for the organization that they will be active marching members of during the 2023 competitive season.

A New Approach to Support Marching Members

St. John’s Alumni Committee proudly introduces the Marching Member Support Fund.

 

Over the last two years our Alumni Committee has re-evaluated how we can continue to support Drum and Bugle Corps activity. We have renamed our bursary program and refined the application process to be more simplified, inclusive, and accessible.

 

For the 2022 summer Drum Corps season the Alumni Committee will award 5 (five) individual donations of $100.00 CDN to the first 5 (five) applicants who meet the following criteria:

  1. The applicant is a Canadian citizen.
  2. The applicant’s age falls within the DCI rule for age eligibility, which is: “Drum Corps International's age limit is 21 years of age with one exception. Corps members who turn 22 on or after June 1 are eligible to march during that year. Minimum age limits may vary from corps to corps.”
  3. The applicant must provide a copy, or written proof, of their Membership Contract for the Drum Corps they will be marching with during the 2022 summer season.

All completed Applications must be received by June 30, 2022. The individual donations will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, to the first 5 (five) successful Applicants who meet all of criteria listed above.
